New Hob for Margot Facilities

Carp Fishing in France
The Bigots have installed a new hob at Margot with one electric ring and 3 gas rings. This replaces the previous hob which was proving to be unreliable and causing the electricity supply to trip.
At the same time, the electric kettle has been replaced.

Bumper Week of French Carping at Glehias

The Draper Party were here with us at Glehias last week and and had a bumper week of fishing, we were fortunate enough to be given their complete catch report.
We love it when we get a complete record of a good week’s catches from our anglers. Apart from it being a precise record of your fishing holiday, it gives us an accurate insight into how our fish are doing, how much weight was dropped during spawning, what baits are working best at what time of year and where the fish are coming from, all valuable information I use to pass on to future anglers.
Barry was fishing The Reeds in the shallows, Tony fished the shallow to mid-depths on the Gorse Bank and Kev fished the deep end of the Gorse Bank, the BBQ Corner and the Outlet Sluice hoping to find one of the bigger Catfish.

Total Number of Fish Landed 39
Total Weight 896lb 4oz
7 New Personal Bests!!!
We estimate a total of around 54 runs were had, most of the lost fish were at night and this is normal when fishing the reeds as the Carp tend to bolt away from you in the dark, this is of no concern as the barbless hooks soon come out.
This week also saw Tony Draper land one of the big Cat’s in the shallows, this has never happened in the last six years of anglers coming here as they have a tendency to run for the snaggy reeds and snap you off, so apart from being a cracking Pb fish, it’s an achievement in itself just getting a 50+ Cat on the bank in that end of the lake!
Well done lads, what a week’s fishing!

14 year old Tyler Smashes his Carp Record at Bletiere

Common carp from Bletiere in France
We have Tyler here at Bletiere this week with his dad Heath and after a quiet start he smashed his pb in style today.  He played the fish in like a true carper & landed this 31lb 8 oz common. With 3 whole days left hopefully he will smash his new pb too.
He was fishing from the middle swim and using a 10mm rahja spice boilie.
I would also like to say a well done to Tyler for the way he held the fish and this helped to get some good photos.  I think once the fish was put back Tyler sat down, cooled off and gave his arms a rest.
Well done Tyler!

Red Squirrels at Bletiere Carp Lake

This is just a short video of the red squirrels that we have here at Bletiere nesting in the pine trees.  A lot of our guests say they have never seen one so I thought I would try and do a short video. As usual as soon as I got the camera out they decided to play hard to get… but I did manage to get a short video of them.  They are always here and if you visit just look up amongst the pine trees.

The Film Stars of Glehias Carp Lake

We just want to say a big THANK YOU to our anglers here this week Tony Draper, Barry Price and Kevin Kerr for putting up with us filming a new lake video over the last couple of days here atGlehias. By the sound of it, camera man Martin Barker got some great film of you all landing some cracking fish and all in daylight, so even the fish behaved for the video!
Tracy and I have also greatly enjoyed the company of Martin whilst filming here. As a lake owner himself (Oakview Lake), he really does know how to get the best out of the anglers, the lake and their soppy owners!
On an angling note, Tony, Kev and Barry managed to bank an impressive 39 fish this week including 3 Cats to over 50lb and 36 Carp including Grassies and Koi to 33lb+, seven of which are now on film, you are absolute stars ☆ !!!
Well done chaps, great angling and once again thank you!
