Details of your catches: 23 total including 5 x 30's to 34lb, 16 x 20's to 28-04 (including 2 linears), 1 x albino catfish at 70lb+ and 1 grass carp at 36-08.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs: Tiger nuts to far bank at night, middle in day.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Yes
General comments: Great holiday but fishing was quite slow, left hand of caravan produced most fish. Great social.

Monster Trio for the Bexons

These 3 brute commons meant a new PB for each of the Bexons fishing at Commons Lake.

The total catch of 17 fish consisted of 3 x 40s, 8 x 30s, 4 x 20s and a 66lb catfish. The fish of the week though has to be Roz Bexon’s 47lb 8oz common.

52.01 – the new Commons record

We had a call from excited Commons angler, Tony Steele, on Saturday morning before he left the lake to go home to ask us whether the 52lb 1oz common that he bagged on Friday night would be a new lake record.

Well it certainly is – well done Tony!

New Lake Record at Commons

Ray Poolman landed a 51lb 2oz Common last night, a new lake record at Commons. Fishing this week with his Dad (Ray Snr) and two friends Andy Vicarey and Jon Blackall, the group managed a decent catch of 26 carp total including; 1 at 51.02, 16 x 30′s to 39.0 and 9 x 20′s to 29.0.

Best tactics/bait/rigs: Weather was foul, freezing, windy, wet – you name it. Mid to far bank, holding to baited areas, used madbait addiction boilies.

Commons Carp Lake Gets a New Swim

Anglers at the Bigot venue Commons Lake have commented that another swim on the left-hand side of the mobile home would be great for those anglers who want to be close to each other for a social and at the same time be near the mobile home.

A new platform swim was created the week before the first group arrived on the 30th March 2013 and, according to the Norton group, fishing from the new platform has already produced the most catches in Common’s first week of this season with Jason Whitehead’s 15 takes.

The new swim is clearly going to be popular.
