A great snap from Robert Reynold’s group out at Morgane Carp and Catfish Lakes last week…

Best of Both!

70 fish in total; 14 x 30′s to 37-12, including a koi at 24-0 and a linear at 24-8.
13 x cats to 65lb including a mandarin at 52-10. Several bream from cat lake between 1.5lbs to 2lb .

The Cat’s Whiskers

Morganes is owned by one of France’s most respected fish farmers, Laurent Bigot, who expertly manages both the carp and cat lake.

The cat lake is a little smaller than the carp lake but much deeper and more tree lined. It contains a massive stock of big cats and you can easily imagine them lurking amongst the overhanging trees waiting to strike at the masses of coarse fish in the lake.  The cats range from 40 to 120lb and will provide plenty of exciting moments… and monumental fights!

Fishing Morgane Lakes between the 13th - 20th April, Chris Rice's group caught 56 fish in total, including:

1 x 40,
12 x 30's to 37-8
22 x 20's to 29.00 including several ghosts and a koi at 26lb 8oz.

6 x under 20's caught mainly on the cat lake.
11 x cats including 1 x 68lb mandarin and 1 x 51lb mandarin.
4 x grass carp to 34lb 8oz.

Best tactics/bait/rigs: Cell bottom baits + pop-ups with maize.

General comments: Excellent week, fish in great condition, would recommend. Nice variety with mandarins, koi's and lovely commons and mirrors.
